The chair requires some assembly, which only takes about 15 minutes to get everything out of the box and ready to sit on. Pretty chairs, exactly as pictured. Easy to assemble. The chairs are pretty deep so you cant sit back in them comfortably... but I have boys on the verge of being teenagers so no one sits in a chair normally in my house anyhow! If you like to curl up and read, the chairs are perfect for that. I would say that since I like to move furniture around a lot, these are not the best chairs for that. When I pull on the back of the chair to move it, the back starts to come off - its not broken - its just pulling up along the metal slide that it slots into.
