Guardian Chicken Coop 14 Chickens

The large chicken coop comes with a chicken run and has two large nesting boxes. The chicken house has four perches with large removable sliding trays for easy cleaning. There are six access points for easy access to all areas of the coop. Features three ventilation windows in the sleeping area to keep it well ventilated. Galvanized wire mesh walls and a series of locks at each access point keep your family animals safe inside and from predators. Sliding door with steel sliding bar locks ducks safely inside the coop.

I made quite a few modifications to make this coop more useful. I used strong magnets across the top so we could reach into the run. We added stair tread to the roost ramp so our ladies didn’t slip around anymore. I’d planned to use a solar door opener to let the gals in and out, but I was one day over the 30 day return window and Wayfair wouldn’t let me return it even for store credit. Overall, we’re very happy with this chicken coop. It took about four hours for one person to put together. It’s a good size for our five hens, looks really nice, and feels sturdy once assembled. The main reason I took off one star is because of the latches. The latches that come with the coop do not feel secure enough to protect the chickens from predators. We didn’t trust that an animal couldn’t get them open, so we purchased stronger latches and replaced the original ones. For something designed to keep chickens safely enclosed, I think better and more secure latches should be included. There were also a couple of spots on the wood pieces for the perching areas where the holes had not been pre-drilled, so we had to drill those ourselves. Other than that, it’s a very nice coop. We will free range so I would be comfortable housing more in there. It is convenient height for collecting eggs and cleaning out waste. This is a great chicken coop for my 7 chicks! It went together fairly easy, and overall it's pretty sturdy! I'll probably take a couple extra measures to really predator proof it, but it's perfect for backyard chickens. My only concern is that the black asphalt roof started separating peeling off of the lip of the roof. Might just be from the hot Arizona heat, though. I do like that it has multiple access doors and it has the slide out tray for cleaning. The chicks love jumping up on the roosting bars and the chicken swing is a nice touch! The coop is quite large, but a pretty simple build. Simple enough that I was able to do as a project with my little ones. Didn’t find any problems with the instructions - all were written pretty clearly and simply. No mistakes and nothing left out. We were worried about the coop in the Louisiana weather, but the PVC roof is large enough and pitched correctly to keep water off the sides and out of the coop. Great product! Easily portable with wheels on, this house is designed with a living room for sleeping, and a pen downstairs. All timber is T&G plained to avoid splintering. All joints are mortise and tenon. 2 x access doors on both levels. The spray wire is solid and non-toxic in case your animals like to chew.

The chicken coop with run arived the date stated in my order confirmation.  Upon opening the boxes i noticed some of the pieces were warped. The directions have room for improvement. Theres many timesI was guessing at the placement of the next part. 2 if us did get it assembled correctly in 1.5 hours. I didnt assemble it where i want it as there were so many pieces and still wintery out so i assembled it inside. Ive been told we will use a couple of 2x4s or similar to move it as the quality is questionable. The coop itself is super cute and larger than i expected.
