Door Levers

• Bore Hole: The bore hole is the circular hole where the lever will be mounted on the door. Before purchasing a new door lever make sure to have the diameter of this hole to ensure you purchase a lever that fits.
• Backset: The backset is the distance between the center of the bore hole and the edge of the door. Measure this by lining up a tape measure with the center line of the bore hole and the edge of the door.
• Door Thickness: Door thickness is how thick your door is. Most interior doors are 3.5 cm thick whereas most exterior doors are 5 cm thick. Make sure to check this measurement to ensure your door won’t require a special lever.

Keyed Door Lever

Keyed door levers are the type of door lever you would expect to find on a door leading from the outside to the inside of a home. A keyed door lever utilizes a key which the homeowner keeps on their person to lock and unlock the door. For added security keyed lever door handles can be paired with an additional deadbolt lock.

Privacy Door Lever

Privacy door levers are interior door levers that have a button or thumb switch on one side which allows the door to be locked from the inside. Privacy levers are ideally suited for interior rooms like bedrooms and bathrooms where privacy is desirable on a frequent basis.

Passage Door Levers

Passage door levers do not contain a lock and merely serve to hold doors closed with a latching mechanism. These types of interior door levers work best for places like closets and hallways where privacy and security are not a concern.

Dummy Door Levers

Dummy levers do not contain a latching mechanism at all and mount directly onto the door face. Dummy levers are interior door levers and are best used on doors where only a pull is needed and there is no need for the door to remain latched closed.
