This is the perfect solution for an entry door that butts up to a closet door-I didn't want to worry about the entry door opening too much and banging onto the closet door but couldn't have a door stop on the floor because that would impede opening the closet door. Satin Nickel

I bought and installed three of these Baldwin Gooseneck Bumper Floor Stops to use in preventing three custom made heavy steel doors from slamming into the adjacent walls. I was very pleased with the simplicity and heft of these floor stops, but have two observations prospective future buyers should take into account. One is the item is only 2 inches tall. This might be sufficiently high for a standard interior door, but the bottom of many exterior doors will be too tall for such a short stop because they are made to fit over high thresholds with deep door shoes for improved weather resistance. I had to raise the height of the stops 1/2 inch using plastic shims shaped and drilled to be compatible with the stops. The second observation is that the installation is not so easy if you want to install them on a concrete floor. I compliment Baldwin for providing all the necessary hardware to install on both wood and concrete floors, however, for concrete floors you will need a hammer drill, specialty 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch concrete bits (probably SDS bits), and more than the ordinary amount of experience and ability with the installation of concrete wedge anchors. Unfortunately, Baldwin does not provide any installation instructions, either in the box or on their website.
