This product is crafted from Tulip Poplar and comes unfinished and chemical-free. Most of our customers choose to leave the wood unfinished, but we do provide finishing instructions for staining or painting.

I search for a while for a bed frame that would fit in my sunroom and work with my hide a bed mattress. The hide a bed couch was old but mattress is fairly new. This option made it so I could still use my mattress. This is a full size mattress and fits its perfectly. I love that it has 3 different options of being a couch, lounger and a bed. I haven't seen this quality of tatami mat for sale outside of Japan, especially for the price! They aren't exactly the same as what I had in Japan, but it is very close. Overall what I was looking for. It was missing some of the screws but I expected that after reading the reviews. I also let it air out as it smelled very much like unfinished wood. Although I didn’t need to sand it, there were some splintery areas (easy fix though). I used my own screwdriver as the one they provided was child-sized (still worked just not for my hands). This is a great futon style mattress. The frame is not included and I did not buy a frame for it but it comes with the slots so a frame can easily slide through the cover. I bought it soecifi to slide u set the bed and pull out for when my daughter had sleep overs so her friends can sleep on it and it works perfect for that. I recently had to use it to when we had family stay in town. I like that it fits my fitted sheets and it’s pretty comfortable to sleep. My daughter likes that she can use it as a couch in her room. This sleeping mat is actually pretty comfortable. The foam is dense enough to add a good amount of support without being too hard. It has a nice anti-slip bottom so it stays in place. It is a little bulky when folded up but I still plan on using it for camping. We have a few foam camping beds that I paid a significant amount of money for and I have a feeling that this will be the bed everyone fights over when we camp.
