It was difficult to find shutters that were modern and I was please to have found these. I ordered five sets (66"h) unfinished so that I could custom match the stain to my building. The wood is very "rustic" so if you want smooth edges, you will need to sand. The face wood was smooth enough, but occasional planks needed sanding.
