A four poster frame gives a bedroom architecture without heavy timber, and this one uses the canopy rails as a feature you can dress: string lights, greenery, curtains or seasonal decoration all hang directly from them. The steel frame is reinforced and the slats strengthened to hold a mattress flat and stop the middle sagging, carrying up to 800 lbs with no box spring needed, so any foam, latex or spring mattress goes straight on. Padding at the metal joints absorbs friction, which is what stops a metal bed squeaking every time someone turns over. Clearance underneath is 12.4 inches, enough for suitcases, storage boxes and seasonal bedding. Bottom crossbars connect without fuss and a full tool set is included, though two people make the build much quicker.
