This is a high-quality Japanese joinery bed frame. It relies entirely on amazing wood-on-wood tension rather than metal fasteners, nails, or glue. I like the solid hardwood construction. The corner joints slot together smoothly without forced hammering. Really easy to put the joints together. Assembly takes me about 20 minutes by simply following the instructions and interlocking the components in sequence. The precision wood-on-wood joinery eliminates creaking entirely. We’ve actually purchased this bed frame twice this year! We first bought the queen size for ourselves and were very happy with it. A couple of months later, we decided to upgrade to a king-size bed, so we gave the queen frame to our son and purchased the exact same bed frame again in king size. We love the quality. It’s made from solid wood, feels sturdy and well-made. It works with our new 16-inch-high mattress and adjustable base, although the headboard does look a little short with such a tall mattress and base. Size Purchased: California King Overall very content with this purchase. I live alone so assembly was a bit difficult but I managed by myself (6'4" dude), but for most buyers I'd imagine it would take two people to handle it. During assembly very important to leave bolts at joints loose so that they can be wiggled into tight fighting place at final stages. Prior to laying down the mattress on top, the smaller composite wood legs in the middle of the frame did not touch flush with the ground. However, with laying down the mattress and lying on it they support the weight and the frame feels sturdy/doesn't wobble.
