The set of replacement bar stools was in perfect condition! I love the chairs, but I will admit that I have to get used to the fact that they do not automatically return to their original position when you stand up! However, the first set of chairs I received were obviously returned by a previous customer; they had been partially unwrapped with hardware removed and loose in the box, and there was a large dent in the back of one of the chairs. In addition, the stain on both seats was not applied correctly and visibly damaged. These stools are great. Ordered 3 to put along a kitchen island and I am very pleased with them. They feel very sturdy and well- made, the swivel works smoothly and they look even better than they do in the pictures. I was thinking that the stools would be upholstered with a woven fabric but they are actually like a wipe-able fabric that feels like leather almost. Perfect for a kitchen.
