The seat part of the sofa is not hard but not soft. I would say medium to soft but this is understandable given it is a sofa bed and I am overall very impressed with its comfort. Beautiful couch. Unfortunately, it appears to be defective or perhaps damaged by the delivery guys because I can’t get it to fold out despite trying every possible angle using all of my strength. There’s also a 4” gap behind the backrest where you can see down into the couch, leaving the frame and mattress visible. I must’ve gotten a lemon. the dreamiest chocolate brown pull out! we were looking for a replacement couch in our camper and RV specific couches were not up to par with the aesthetic we were looking for. this compact yet cozy loveseat can fit my husband and I, and great for a guest to sleep on if needed. From a hardware perspective, the sleeper sectional sofa is well made. From a cushion perspective the cushions are extremely thin and delicate, and after having it for just one week it is already showing compression signs in the actual cushioning.
