Hood fan review Installation was easy but you need small hands to screw in the hood around the fan. The noise of the fan is not as quiet as I thought it was going to be but it will be fine. I haven't installed this range hood yet, but my first impression is outstanding. It looks sleek, modern, and very elegant. The black finish combined with the curved tempered glass gives it a premium look that perfectly complements my new kitchen design. The unit arrived well packaged, and all the parts appear to be of good quality. I chose this model because of its modern appearance and features, and I'm looking forward to installing it soon. It’s okay. You don’t see it much because it’s up under the cabinet but it always looks dirty even after I clean it. This thing is heavy duty, had some installation issues as the bolt pattern was a little different than the unit i replaced. The instructions don't mention what all the hardware is for but I recommend getting an extra long screw extension and some screws with washer built in. The angle brackets they included for what i assume is a cabinetless setup came in handy to hold it up while I got the top screws in. Its quite heavy compared to old unit needed to reinforce cabinet to hold the weight. Also cut off the plug to do a direct wire install. Performance is very good so far and not very loud. The only think I am not crazy about is the bright halogen lights, they should be further back so it illuminates whole stove more than your eyes. Overall this is a solid unit in its price range and I can finally put battery back in my smoke detector.
