This is an absolutely gorgeous ceiling fan. The walnut blades are polished and have a timeless look, and it makes an absolutely gorgeous statement piece in the middle of the living room. We have 2 refrigerators and 1 freezer in the garage and needed more air flow to help them operate efficiently. We found this 8-blade 72" ceiling fan and thought that this would be perfect for moving lots of air. The directions weren't the best we've ever used, but everything did go together nicely, and was probably one of the best fans we've purchased. It really looks nice, is whisper quiet, and moves lots of air at Speed 2, with a total of 6 speeds if we need them. We mounted the remote next to the light switch and everything works like a charm! I want to love this so so much! It was easy to install and other than being tedious work to hang the crystals they were easy. It looks absolutely gorgeous, however as you can see, I did not expect that the room would be so dark above the light, I also did not realize the rest of the room would have the broken light pattern on it. I have never owned a chandelier so I was unaware of these effects. For those reasons I dropped a star off. But the fan is so awesome on this light and the light it gives to the floor is excellent as well. I also do not like that the remote for this light is black. I believe it completely throws off the aesthetics of the room. I will be hiding the remote behind something because no way do I want a black remote on the wall. I wish it was white (. Laura. I was looking for something for our guest room in our Florida home that would help make our guests feel they were on vacation and this fit the bill. We've thrilled with our purchase. The only negative is that the remote changes the light warmth but not necessarily the brightness - there is no dimming option on remote.
