I needed a ductless hood and I love the fact that I could convert this one. The best part is that I don’t have to touch it in order to turn it off or on or to increase the speed. So far so good. Install was relatively easy, but because of its size, having a few extra folks to help hold it in place would be a good idea. My wife and I managed, but it was a bit tricky for just us 2 folks to install and we almost gave up. The gesture control seems a bit finicky, and we can't get it to work reliably. Maybe with time we'll figure it out. The buttons work fine though, and the remote control is a nice touch. The stainless-steel finish, display, and led lights look great. Definitely an upgrade from the Broan powerpack it replaced. As far as noise, it seems to be as loud as our old Broan PM350 we replaced. The grates tend to vibrate a little, so that with the fan contributes to the noise. I was hoping for something quieter, but it's no worse than the unit it replaced, so not a deal breaker. As for airflow, it seems a bit stronger than the broan unit it replaced, which was rate for only 350cfm. This one is rated at 900cfm at max speed, but i don't have a way to measure/confirm that. The fan cage seems bigger, and it's been doing a good job so far of keeping the smells/vapors out of the kitchen while cooking. Time will tell if it holds up, but so far, we've been impressed with the build quality. Added the extra warranty just in case.. Tejesh. US. Sat Nov 30 2024

Install was rather easy , I just measured several times to make sure it was all in the right area.. The only thing was the top part that covers up the venting was not perfect. IF you look at very top right corner of unit you see a crease or kink in metal. . or bent in packaging.. Most people wouldn't notice..but I'm OCD. I was going to send back but just will live with it. Hood fan review Installation was easy but you need small hands to screw in the hood around the fan. The noise of the fan is not as quiet as I thought it was going to be but it will be fine. The features on the controls are cool but the remote really seems a little unnecessary. Not really sure that I will use it.. Anonymous. Thu Aug 13 2026
