Although it was packaged well, it somehow came with a small dent in the side (see picture). While this does not affect the cabinet’s purpose in any way, it was a gift for my husband and it just found this disappointing. Other than that, it is very nice overall. Not oversized and comes completely assembled. The inside is done very nicely with an eye towards maximizing the space for rifles, pistols, magazines and ammo. Both keys and code unlock it with ease. Designed to accommodate approximately 10-12 firearms in total, including rifles and handguns, this steel gun safe features adjustable rifle racks, dedicated door storage, an upper storage compartment, and a bottom locking drawer for flexible organization. A programmable digital keypad, backup keys, vibration alarm, silent mode, and emergency external power option provide convenient everyday access. The cabinet ships unassembled and includes the hardware and instructions needed for installation.

This arrived in a large rectangular box that had some shipping damage. A few of the metal pieces were bent, but I was able to straighten them with a pair of pliers, and the damaged areas were hidden once everything was assembled. Assembly took me about an hour and a half. A screwdriver is included, but I would definitely recommend using your own because the one provided was difficult to work with. I could not really use a drill either because several of the screws are positioned very close to the inside corners. A few of the holes did not line up perfectly, but once assembled, the cabinet still felt secure. I am using the main compartment for valuables rather than firearms. To me, this feels more like a heavy-duty locking cabinet or locker than a true heavy-duty safe. It can be bolted to the wall, which definitely helps with security. I also like that it has two separate storage areas that can be locked independently from the main compartment. The keypad allows you to program two codes, and if someone enters the wrong code twice, a very loud alarm sounds. The lock itself is manual. After entering the correct code, you still turn the dial to unlock the door rather than having it open automatically. The keypad uses four AA batteries, and it also includes an external battery pack in case the internal batteries die. Mine arrived with a noticeable scratch on the keypad, but it still worked properly. The instructions started out fairly straightforward but became a little confusing toward the end.
