I was really disappointed to find that this bed isn't truly waterproof... I ordered it to donate to a foster program, and thought it would be perfect for new kittens/puppies and their mothers - they can be pretty messy. :( The outer nylon cover is absolutely waterproof and as heavy and chew-resistant as described, but I dribbled water on the furry mattress cover and found that the interior was damp after a minute. I still rate it high though, and recommend it. I'll tell them to use pee-pads over the mattress and it'll work well. It's very well made from nice materials. The mattress is stiff enough to not crush over time, but is also very supportive and comfortable. The side rails are stiff enough to stay upright and not sag under a heavy head. The non- skid bottom is actually "tacky" enough to really be non-skid. All of those qualities make it a better bed than most. That is approved! It was easy to install, just need to remember not to tighten all the screws until at the very end (otherwise you wont be able to get all holes to match), it also helped that I tightened the screws by lifting the bed sideways up, so it was a bit tilted when I put the last screw in and once that was halfway in, I straightened it all to levelled. This bed is nice! It’s more substantial than I expected and the material is very soft. I like the grippers on the bottom. It takes my dog a few days to adjust to new things, but it’s much more supportive than his original which puts him right on the hard floor, so I think he’ll like it.
