I searched extensively for a non-wood product that actually looked like real wood and was substantial. This is it. Installation was a breeze if you’re handy with a drill and saw. We used our old 3x3 mail post (with the mailbox support removed) and this post slid right over it. Saved us the step of having to sink a new post into cement, which was huge. This post gets screwed to the underlying support post so it’s completely stable when finished. Can’t recommend it enough.. Tina. New York, NY. Mon Feb 24 2025

Count on “special delivery” every day when you add a beautifully Dover Mailbox 5 Ft. H In-Ground Mount Decorative Post. These posts are made of a cellular PVC - vinyl and handcrafted with great quality and attention to detail. It’s the perfect balance of function and style. Quality built to stand strong and sturdy through the seasons.

The best mailbox post I’ve found during a 2 month arduous search for a high quality piece. Most of the decorative posts I came across in my search were as thin as a milk jug, but not this one. It’s made from a solid PPE-vinyl material that’s evenly colored the same throughout its thickness. (I had to trim 38” from the mailbox mounting plate, so I saw for myself. I included a picture of the scrap piece). It’s SUPER sturdy, has a smooth surface, and cleaning requires a damp cloth, a spray of all purpose cleaner at worst. It’s also beautiful in person…I especially like the little brass plaque with the company name! I chose to have that side showing above the mailbox so the mailman sees every day lol. I think it adds a nice personal touch that other brands don’t bother with. The other ones I found of this quality were several hundred dollars more, and many of them were simply coated or painted wood, needing annual touch up and maintenance. Many were also made to order, and required a 6-8 week wait and 200-250 shipping). ***Tip the instructions state that two bags of concrete are needed, but I found that it only needed one, like every other post I’ve installed. In my opinion, one can save themselves the money and backache by using one bag of quick setting. (QuikCrete sells it in the red bag). Don’t forget that you’ll need a few inches of gravel underneath the concrete for drainage. There are plenty of YouTube videos on post installations.) All three of my neighbors commented on how great it looks, and I just installed it yesterday! of concrete. Jimmy (homeowner). Frontenac, MO. Sat Jul 13 2024

Looks absolutely gorgeous, but the arms could be a little less flimsy. The top of the arms have wood in them but the rest is just hollow pvc so it’s a little flimsy. You guys could solve that by filling them with some sort of plastic resin.. Anonymous. Sat Oct 24 2026

Our metal mailbox post is rust-resistant, weather-ready, and built to stay looking sharp season after season.

I had purchased this as a companion to our new Post and Porch Large Malone mailbox and unfortunately will be returning this. The post finish is quite shiny with a slightly pebbled texture while the post and porch finish is quite matte. Also, the attachment is a "univeral" plate which does not fit the larger square spacing of the post and porch Malone box. If you don't mind the shine and are looking to fit a "universal" box, this could be a good product that is well made and ships quickly. I gave it a 3 star due to the lack of adequate information provided that could have saved me time and shipping fees had I been able to see that the attachment would not work. It was "recommended" for the Post Porch product.. Monica. Canton, MA. Wed Jul 15 2026
