Some have pretty rough edges on the bottom. When they sit in the cabinet they do not lay completely flat and they make a nails on the chalkboard sound if you just pull the plate off of the other instead on lifting it all the way up to pull it out of the cabinet. Have to say that information on dishes was incorrect. Ordered dishes which information said were dishwasher safe and could be used in microwave.
