Can’t live without it. Hot or cold, small or large. It’s an easy 3 step process and I love it! I suggest not using tap water to avoid hard water rings around the basin; spring or filtered water is best. I also suggest gently washing the water basin. Scrubbing with an abrasive sponge or wire pads will cause scratches on the plastic. I’ve had it for a few years and use it religiously everyday and it’s still brewing strong. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by this handheld portable espresso shot coffee maker. Initially, I was skeptical about its capabilities. However, after trying it a few times, I am fully convinced. Not only does it heat the water in the chamber on top of the unit, but it also pulls a shot of espresso in a short amount of time, provided you have the grinds at the correct courseness and have set it up properly. On a full charge, if you use hot water poured into the unit from a kettle, you can make back-to-back espresso shots. I’ve made four in a row without any issues using that method. However, if you need to use the heating element to heat the water inside the unit, it does use the battery more quickly and takes longer. So, one shot of espresso could take up to 4 to 5 minutes. I setup my new Coffee Maker and followed the “Quick Instructions.” I have never used an espresso machine before. FYI - Use the measuring cup that came with the system . Also, make sure the water tank is seated well, you will see medium sized bubbles. Always do a test on setup. The red piece with the pins sticking out of it is for cleaning not puncturing. My husband and I aren't coffee drinkers, but we wanted to get a coffee maker for company. This one fits the bill well. Its compact size makes storage easy, which means one less appliance on the kitchen counter. Operating the machine is intuitive, but if needed, the instruction manual is clear. I had no trouble making a regular cup of coffee as well as iced coffee (since it's so blasted hot outside!). You can use K-cups as well as ground coffee with this machine; it comes with a cartridge for each.
