This rustic wood farmhouse platform bed is a great bed. It is very sturdy with the metal frame and would agree you do not need a box spring, but for dimension we decided to put both box spring and mattress on the bed. The wood has a very nice finish to it that makes it look like real walnut wood. However it is light weight and very easy for one person to move and position on their own. It also was very easy to assemble and only took about 20 minutes which is quite surprising for such a nice piece of structured furniture. The headboard is not overly tall and the bed sits at a normal height even with a box spring. Overall we are very pleased with the bed and would recommend the purchase at the price. point.. Tracey. We’ve actually purchased this bed frame twice this year! We first bought the queen size for ourselves and were very happy with it. A couple of months later, we decided to upgrade to a king-size bed, so we gave the queen frame to our son and purchased the exact same bed frame again in king size. We love the quality. It works with our new 16-inch-high mattress and adjustable base, although the headboard does look a little short with such a tall mattress and base. Love this bed! It was super easy to assemble. The side rails had hooks that slid into the head and foot boards, versus some cheaper quality beds that just use cam locks. Love that! Also came with real wood slats, another sign of quality!! I also love that the side rails had little ledges. The headboard was just the perfect size. Such a beautiful color!
