Bright light with a compact design. The base is a nice warm gold tone. For me it’s limiting because the only way to turn it on is via the button on the wire at the base but where I have to plug it in the button is under other furniture. When using LED bulbs, it is common to see some flicker on the low setting (the high setting will always have no flicker). A dimmable lead will minimize the low-setting flicker, but may still occur.

Perfect touch for the look that I wanted. I wanted something somewhere between spare contemporary and traditional, which is usually to heavy/fussy for me. This lamp is clean-looking but doesn't look as if it belongs in a cold medical exam-room. I think it fits into the space with a more transitional style without sticking out like a sore thumb. I'm very happy with the result. The uplighting gives the perfect effect for the vaulted ceiling. The lamp is solid and stable. The on/off switch doesn't have the flimsy feel that many others that I've purchased had, so I'm hopeful that this one will hold up longer. I took one star off because assembly was a bit frustrating; I had more than a little difficulty working the electrical cord down inside the tube enough to screw the top of the lamp down completely - a VERY tight fit that took several attempts.
