First of all, this piece is absolutely gorgeous and very well made. I gave this weathervane to my husband because we have about 45 domestic ducks and 25 wild ducks on our farm. This looks just like the ducks when they are coming in for a landing and they ski down the surface of the pond! He absolutely loved it! I put it together, EASILY, and he even mounted it on our well house in the dark! because he was so anxious to see it! We all live on farms in our area. The neighbors have even noticed it from the road and commented on how beautiful it is! It's like a museum piece! Don't pass this one up! You will love it! Wayfair, as always, you've done it again!. Cheri. Orange, US. Mon Aug 17 2020

It's hunting season all year long with this hunter weathervane.

Just to be clear, I did not request a replacement weathervane and I did not receive one. I called Wayfair because I could not see assembly instructions or screws through the clear plastic which enclosed the pieces of the weathervane. I did not want to open the packaging in case I needed to return the item. After a short hold, I was advised that the missing items would be sent to me. I did send a photo of the unwrapped item, as requested. The next day I opened the packaging and realized that assembly of the product was actually very simple, using the picture on the website as a guide, and the only screws required were the 6 screws to attach the weathervane to the cupola, which I purchased at a local hardware store. The attachment piece was not suitable for my cupola, so a friend was able to fabricate it to fit. I am very pleased with the way the project turned out. My only suggestion would be for the supplier to include a simple 1 page print-out or a pdf on-line for assembly in the product description, as well as a note indicating that attachment screws are not included.. Fully functional. The arrow points in the direction of the wind to help determine pending weather. Made of cast aluminum - will not rust. Weather-resistant paints to last a lifetime. Distinctive ornament provides a personal touch to your home. Includes complete installation instructions. An adjustable base allows for a variety of mounting options.

Replacing another Eagle that blew away in a storm. Did a lot of research, ended with this weathervane. It is a classic but, it doesn’t seem to be so ostentatious. Liked the design better of the next size up, but thought it might be too large (tall) for my copula. It’s winter, so I have not climbed up to install it yet. I Know I’m taking a risk, but the price was right and the reviews on all the sites seem to think Whitehall products are pretty good. Hope I’m right!. Howard. Merrick, NY. Thu Mar 05 2026

I like to start a review with the packaging. So, it came in a box, very well cared for inside, fragile label on all sides, and it arrived via FedEx in perfect condition. Good job, Fedex!! Upon assembly I noticed it was very straight forward (mechanical mind not necessary), the instructions were clear and written in my language. Looking at this beautiful piece fully assembled made me feel almost awe struck, with its glowing copper eagle, and brass cardinal directions. Solid piece! I've capped the cupola I'm building with it and it made it even more pretty! The only downside that I could find us that it does not come with the mount. Not really a downside though and if I had read the description better I would've known that before the purchase. You will love this piece. I'd include a photo, but Wayfair is not specific on what type of file is allowed.. Carl. Middletown Springs, VT. Sat Oct 01 2022

Weathervanes have been looked up to for hundreds of years. Popular in Europe, the weathervane is valued for its function as much as its design. Farmers, seafarers, and others would watch the weather vane to get the weather forecast by paying close attention to changes in breathing, an indicator of bad or good weather. It is a hand-crafted fully-functional weathervane. Yes, it will still tell you if the wind is changing direction and will look great doing so.
