The Zwilling Four Star 10" Chef's knife was the very first 'professional' quality knife I ever purchased. That was1978 and it was a revolutionary design at the time, its handle of black polymer a seamless extension of the blade, perfectly balanced and razor sharp out of the box. Some 22 Four Star knives of various shapes, tasks and sizes later I thought it couldn't get better, until now. The koribe wood handle on the 8" Chef's knife is aesthetically perfect and even enhances the functionality of the blade. For example, it warms to the touch immediately, becoming an extension of your hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. When you're dicing 40 carrots or mincing a dozen cloves of garlic that fluidity alters the nature of the task from labor to meditative beauty. Thank you Zwilling engineers and please, please, please keep expending this line it is absolutely BRILLIANT. Crispyduck. Mon Jul 13 2026

Beautiful knife hits well above its price point. I have been owning and using Japanese knives in professional kitchens for the better part of 3 decades and this knife performs as well or better than knives from misono, Masahiro and others and costs far less. Miyabi 5000 FCD Gyutoh, 16cm blade. The gyutoh is the chef’s knife of the Japanese kitchen, used as a general-purpose knife for preparing larger cuts of meat and vegetables. The blade core is made of hard fine carbide steel for very good initial sharpness and cutting-edge retention. 48 layers of steel surround the core and make up the Damascus design of the blade. A three-stage grinding, sharpening, and polishing process called Honbazuke honing give the knife a razor-sharp cutting edge. There is no finger guard so the whole length of the cutting edge can be used. The edge is symmetrical (not a single bevel) so can be used by those both left and right-handed. The smooth join between handle and bolster helps to prevent calluses from forming on the thumb and forefinger. For best care, wash by hand, and maintain and sharpen using whetstones. Avoid using glass, ceramic, or stone cutting boards as these will dull the cutting edge.

Very versatile knife with an amazing edge. It’s extremely durable, has a nice weight in my hand, and makes cooking in the kitchen something I look forward to doing more because of this knife alone.. Zsa1. Thu Sep 24 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just bought my new knife and am in love .my other knives are now feeling neglected. Perfect balance and slices thru a watermelon like hot knife thru butter. Would highly recommend and will definitely be buying more from this line. Chef Z. Taylor Michigan. Thu Jun 04 2026

The all-rounder in the kitchen: the most important piece of basic equipment for every home and professional chef, the WÜSTHOF Chef's Knife is suitable for most tasks in the kitchen, for the widest variety of cutting and gripping techniques, it makes food prep a pleasure. The knife handles will bring a smile to your face every time you pull out your cutting board. The weight was perfect. It feels exceptionally designed, and I love the riveting handle, added protection of handle and blade.. Kari Morrison. Portland Oregon. Tue Apr 21 2026
