It probably takes about 30 minutes to 40 minutes maximum. The wood pieces are solid wood. Has very smooth finish. The texture of the finished surface is soft and gives expensive feel. Once assembled one can tell its sturdy construction. We’ve been using it for a month now and no creaking or any noise. Perfect for apartment size bedroom or guest bedroom. Very happy with purchase. I ordered this bed to go with my headboard (also from Wayfair) and it is a perfect color match! However, there are no holes in the bed in order to connect them. No big deal to me, I'll just zip tie them if I have to. So far there have been no issues with sturdiness. The height description is accurate. I wish there had been a 14 inch height option. The top of my mattress sits at about 28 inches from the ground so I feel like I'm a little too high up, but I will get used to it. Very happy with the shipping. Came fast and no damage. The directions were fairly easy but could have a bit more clearer instructions in some areas. Took 2 of us about 1.5 hours.
