This one hurts. We just moved from out of state, found a house, did renovations and found stools we LOVED!!! Once they were assembled, sadly they were too full for our island, even though we measured so carefully. They sat nicely together, but no room for us to sit comfortably with four people. Plus, our grandbabies would have destroyed these gorgeously upholstered chairs. I am still so sad that we had to return them. I purchased a less expensive version, fully expecting to have to replace when the kids are older. Edit 2/13/2026. We've now had these just under 6 years. While I started my first review with an expectation of these being absolutely trashed in a couple years, I am thrilled to report that I was wrong. They're holding up great to a now 8 and 4 year olds daily meals. The kids also like to use these stools as stepladders to get cereal, bread, etc out of the upper cabinets. I opted for the green chairs and we love them! The kids love how comfortable they are. These chairs are a full seat allowing for those who are fuller at the bottom to sit comfortably. They are light and not heavy at all. Putting them together was relatively easy. Initially, there was a gap between the high back portion of the chair and the chair leg that rests on the back of the chair. However, loosening, realigning and tightening the screws towards the end fixed the problem. It helps to have two people but construction can be completed with one person.
