Putting the legs together (first step) was slightly tricky, but every step after went smoothly. The holes for screws are perfectly machined, nicely thought out assembly design. The swivel seats rotate is smooth as can be. In choosing the height for a 36 inch high counter I felt there needed to be something in between the 25 inch and 30 inch stool. The stools were packaged well and are very sturdy. They are very stiff and not as wide at the seat as I thought they would be. We ran into an issue where the seats had some staining on them due to the silica packets, getting damp and rubbing on the tag that was maroon, which caused it to get on the fabric. I called Wayfair that night, while we were putting together the stools and noticed the staining, and the gentleman that helped me couldn't have been any kinder or more thorough with getting my information. He gave my information to the manufacturer, and they took care of me right away and we very easily I came to a solution. We bought the Diamondback Solid Wood 24" Counter Stool in Mahogany and we LOVE them! I do wish I had bought the 30" inch stools, but hind sight is 20/20, isn't it? You really cannot tell how it would fit without seeing it in person; honestly, it would be helpful if Wayfair put the both sized stools up to the counter in a photo. For now, you have me telling you, that if you are buying this for the Dodge Kitchen Island, and especially if you are putting the wheels on that island which puts the counter at 38" high, consider buying the 30" inch stools, Ok? The Mahogany stools are not as dark as the counter top, but the black would not have matched either, soooo . . . it is what it is; we still love them because they are GORGEOUS !! You will love them too! If you do buy the 24" inch stools, know that they will be easier for your kids to climb into.
