To assist with the installation these doors are fully finished which will allow them to be hung as soon they arrive. Beautiful quality, but grab your router and chisel! I absolutely love this frosted glass door, but there is one major thing you need to know before buying: it arrives as a completely blank slab. There are no pre-cut holes for the doorknob and no mortises cut out for the hinges. Luckily, my husband is pretty handy, so he was able to measure, drill, and mortise everything. If you don't own the right tools (like a router or a door lock installation kit) or aren't comfortable prepping a raw door, you might want to hire a pro. That being said, the overall quality of the door is fantastic. It feels sturdy, the frosted glass offers great privacy while still letting light through, and it fits my French country decor flawlessly. The door is very heavy duty and well built. However, I did not read the description very well because none of the cut outs come precut I had to chisel and cut out every hinge and the door knob hole in order to install it. Our product package contains only one door slab. Hardware kit, door frame, hinges, etc. are not included. The door panel is FULLY assembled, no need to assemble it again. The door can be painted. Before painting, sand the surface with fine sandpaper of 320 mesh or above, and then paint with water-based paint or lacquer for better adhesion.
