I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. The bed is really pretty, sturdy, solid wood, but it’s a few things that prevent me from giving 5 stars. No instructions, took some time to find them online. The headfootboardsside rails don’t perfectly line up, which bothers the perfectionist in me. Not enough screws included to screw in both sides of each slat, had to do every other. The bed went together fairly easily, even with one person! For a few of the steps, I had it leaning on the wall with a blanket for extra protection, but the pieces went together smoothly with little extra effort. The most time consuming part was simply attaching the bed slats, which was quick with a drill.
