I ordered this bed in the "Duck Gray" and was surprised to see it was a much lighter grey than the photo online. It's still a nice gray, but more of a light grey than a mid tone gray. Also the fabric looks more like a canvas linen than a true linen. The headboard fabric is not sewn directly onto the headboard, it is a slipcover that you slide over the headboard. At first I was annoyed but then I thought - well at least I can get it dry cleaned when it gets dirty - so it works out well. The bed took about an hour and a half to put together (with 2 people) but it's made well so it's very sturdy and was easy to assemble. It does have a sort of chemical smell to it, but I imagine that will go away with time. It also arrived 10 days sooner than originally anticipated which was a huge plus. We really like this bed, and that was based primarily on the island/tropical design/vibe and the great color choices (we went with Kiwi green...vibrant!) The bed appears to be well-made, but it is a bit pricey for its lightweight and simple construction and detailing. It also took a few weeks to receive the bed, but that seems to be typical with larger furniture items. I had high hopes for this bed and unfortunately after waiting two months for delivery, sadly I was disappointed. This bed is not designed to be a platform bed as Wayfair described. As a matter-of-fact, if you go to the manufacturer's website they don't even offer a platform version of any of their beds. There are slats that come with the bed, but they are so low (I believe to place a box spring on) that your mattress comes to the top of the side rail. The slats are cheap and are not even secured to the bed frame and set too far apart, they cannot support a latex or foam mattress. Other than that the bed is well made and the velvet is beautiful. The design in particular also does not look like the picture which shows a very peaked top, the headboard is much flatter on the top than what is pictured. GORGEOUS BED !! Super nice guys delivered and put our bed together without a hitch, Very conscietous. The bed upholstery is defintely a dark grey quality fabric. The headboard teak is a med gray. Which works for us. The photos colors appear a taupe color, which is not what it is. The headboard design with is teak slices is a show stopper. The bed that I ordered is exactly what I expected. The quality and sturdiness are great. However, the delivery service was certainly less than satisfactory. First of all, I was under the assumption that I would not receive a new metal bed frame so I left mine in place. I was told it was being replaced. I am nearly 70 years old and a woman. I asked the delivery man if he could help me move the old bedframe into the hallway. His answer was no he couldn’t touch it. When the bed was assembled, I went to check it before he left. It was approximately 16 inches away from the wall. I asked him if he would be able to help me move it to the wall. His answer was no because of the liability, he couldn’t risk putting a scratch on our bedroom wall. I was under the impression that it would be the “white glove” installation.
