It took me three and a half hour to build, granted I was building it alone as a solo female. There was a period where the screws would not screw in to assemble both parts together, it was so frustrating and because of that I was stuck in the same step for over an hour. It must’ve been the manufacturers problem since I was reading the instructions correctly and the screws just won’t go in. First time online bed buyer and super happy with my purchase! In the midst of a bedroom remodel. Got king size in natural, arrived next day, no damage, had all parts, didn't take too long for two people to put together - appx 30 min; however, I think the spacers weren't the correct size because we ended up with two slats that weren't accounted for at the end, but we just respaced slightly and it was fine. I really appreciated the velcro for the slats so they don't move around when spacing - someone thought that through! You will also need a drill to screw in the slats. Headboard and footboard are not completely solid, but sturdy and the height is good for us. Also, purchased the Stearns and Foster Lux Estate Mattress and it fit perfectly.
