We love our Murphy Bed! My husband and I put it together which took about 4 hrs. We recommend having two people to assemble it. I liked putting it together and the directions were easy to follow too. The reason I did 4 stars out of 5 is because there was a scratch crack in one of the major pieces and we were already halfway done with putting it together and needed it the next day, so we werent about to take it apart to order another. Also, one of the screw holes broke on the locking piston upon screwing one of the screws in and we didnt even screw it in that hard. The only thing I thought could use some improvement would be with the hinges where a mattress lay. I love the bed, I have no complaints the quality is really nice. I was able to carry and assemble this without assistance so if you wanted to assemble on your own it is possible. This bed did not need a box spring, but I did add one for extra height. The pictures with the white bedding is how it looks without a box spring and the one with stripes is how the bed looks with a box spring.
