This is a bright white filled blanket that looks like a light bedspread or light quilt. I would say it looks very nice however it is not very soft. Perhaps once I wash and dry it with some fabric softener it will soften up a little bit, but for now I would say it would not be really comfortable as a blanket, but would be much better as a bedspread and would make the bed look nice and bright white and polished, but I will use it with a comfortable blanket underneath.. I spent a fair bit of time researching a good quality duvet and it came packaged very nice and the 400 TC does have a luxurious feel. I have only had the duvet for two nights and I did find that was a little colder than expected Ted.
