This is my 6th alcohol fireplace and by far the best. The first ones were "gel fuel" fireplaces and although they crackled like a real fireplace, the flames were puny and hardly visible. Then, after pourable gel fuel was pulled from the market I purchased this one: a liquid bioethanol fuel fireplace. The flame is wide, very lively, and very bright. For here in Florida it also produces enough heat to chase the chill out of a medium sized room. It's heavy, stable, well made, and very attractive.
