We loved using this! What I really love about this pot is that you can heat it hot enough to cook meats and poultry. One night we decided to have a fondue dinner. We cut up chicken breasts and beef cubes and made a couple of side dishes to go along. It was so fun to cook right at the table! If you are worrying about young children and hot oil using this pot you do need to use caution as you would around anything hot. Adult supervision is always required of course! However, this fondue pot is very heavy and does not tip over easily. The pot itself is stainless steel and it is connected to the stand it is sitting on. The temperature probe has a magnetic connector that easily pulls off in the event of someone tripping over the cord or pulling on the cord. The magnet is strong enough to stay on the temperature probe and yet comes off easily enough in the event something like this should occur. With the variable temperature control you can easily heat oil, broth, cheeses, or chocolate! The only drawback with this fondue pot is that the cord is very short. If you want to use it at the table you will need an extension cord. The manufacturer does not recommend using one but we would have all had to stand at the counter to use the pot. Which was not appealing to us at all. We opted to use an extension cord and had no problems!**I recieved this item for [$] in return for my honest review. I was not required to give a positive review of this item. We really love this product!"..."  Read more

This fondue pot is outstanding, except that the lid does not fitt well when not using the insert. The lid can fall in the pot. We are imply using it without the lid, but you need to use longer forks as the one provided can fall into the pot."..."  Read more

If you don't have a gas stove, do not follow the manufacturer recommandations regarding the milk to boil in the cookpot before its first use. I got a very thick layer of burnt milk which took forever to clean and slightly damaged my brand-new pot. Instead, simmer for 5 minutes 1 qt of water with 1/2 cup of rice. It will be much safer. My first fondue was a success. I used a high quality Riesling and a good Comte. The gruyere and emmental they recommand are tasteless. In Europe we use Comte, Beaufort and Appenzeller cheese for a great cheese fondue."..."  Read more

This fondue pot is a little pricey. But, it is very well made. In our opinion, worth it. We used it a few times and are very happy with the purchase. The ability to use the regular gas cook top to start the fondue before transfering it over to the low flame is very helpful. We had two pots (different make) that cracked during the transfer process."..."  Read more
