06/12/11Once in a while, you happen to see a thing, come across by accident--even for short while--and you just 'know' you want it, and, if the Fates are kind, you are able to get it. This doesn't occur often, but it did when I first saw the "Optimum Rug in Black", in the 7'10" round.I had known that I wanted a rug for my bedroom, but kept putting it off.Besides, friends, after you've looked at a couple of hundred rugs, they all kind of blur together, and soon--after its given you a royal migraine--nothing really looks good or bad.Actually, the Optimum rug I saw was featured in a column by itself at the side.I was immediately impressed by its dark design, patterned in random, all-over mauve flowers; although I had never considered having a round rug in my bedroom, this one captured my attention.I could not believe it when I saw its for-sale price was only [$]; surely--I thought--there must be some mistake. At [$] it would have been a bargain.I hesitate to purchase things on-line as all too often, the 'two-inch' illustration and the reality of the product fall far short of any expectations.But, after speaking ( several times ) with Wayfair's outstanding personnel, I decided to buy it. [...]This rug ( which is also sold in different sizes ) is absolutely beautiful.I intend to place it halfway under my bed, so that the rug can be seen at the sides and past the end of the bed. I feel I hardly need worry; at almost 8'round, the rug will still retain its commanding presence, and unobstructed beauty over the light wood laminate that is in the room, and, indeed, in every room in my newly remodeled home.I would heartily encourage every potential shopper to consider this, and other rugs from Wayfair.I have no regrets over this purchase...and, neither will you. I was apprehensive buying this rug based on reviews of similar rugs. This is my first rug buying experience, and overall, it's been great. The two main negatives pointed out in other reviews were (1) that it is thin and (2) that the colors were not as shown in the picture. I address these two points below.
(1) I have this rug on carpet, and it feels great under my feet. I wouldn't describe it as thin at all. I can see where you might want a rug pad under it if you have it on tile or wood.
(2) As far as colors go, the pink is more like tan. As I read in another review, it's better to plan a room around the rug and/or be flexible in changing your decor once you get the rug.
Overall, I am satisfied with this rug as it fit my budget, covers up my ugly carpet, and looks pretty, too."..." Read more
