Rug arrived well packaged and unrolled flat. It is a pretty wool rug, very soft under foot. The design is quite busy and more yellow than I wanted for my room, but it will work in my library. I would recommend this rug for anyone with a neutral space as it will add color and interest. The color of this rug is nor gray but almost aqua blue with yellow and brown accents. Ok - this is several years down the road and wanted to update folks on this rug. Initially, we loved it. I still love the color and it is very comfortable underfoot. However, this rug sheds horribly and has stretched and shrunk in size since it is not bound. Constantly had to adjust it and the shed was constant and just a mess. We finally could not take it anymore and sent to landfill. I did not want anyone else to have to deal with what we had so didn't even consider donation! We love our new rug ! The color is perfect for our room and décor - and the quality is top notch. I wanted something that would be soft and cushioned somewhat underfoot, but not a high pile that would be hard to maintain. Beautiful high quality rug. It is less dark and more bluish than the photos suggested. We are ok with that and aware that a hand knotted rug may vary. It still surprised us how blue the rug really is. It is very interesting how the white stripes are not achieved by using white wool knotting, but rather represent "missing" dark wool and the white is the backing of the rug.
