When access inside studs is problematic, this model is intended to be surface mounted directly to a stud in the wall. Heavy, average quality ironing center, for the price. I've had a built in unit in a previous home that was much nicer, but much more expensive, too. I'd have given this more stars if the door had come notched, for easier opening. Instead, my husband had to borrow a router to create a notch to allow for easier opening! And, if you don't do this...your fingers are likely to sustain injury when closing the door! A door knob is highly recommended if you don't want to router, & paint, it!
