Works great, tried many kinds in the past, this cleans well and has great suction. Easy to clean, come apart easily. This carpet cleaner and stain remover is great in the fact that it is compact, however, the attachment for the hose comes out very easily. It did remove the stain from my couch but not my carpet. The suction is good but the worst part is the fact that the stain remover liquid that goes in the machine is a very small bottle and I can’t find any more liquid on Google. Well, first, it is NOT a vacuum cleaner, and it’s barely for carpets. Mostly it’s a hard floor cleaner, scrubber, and polisher. It’s a household sized version of the hard floor polishers that large institutions use. I picked this one because it DOESN’T have a tank. The reviews on other sites indicate the tanks can leak, and I’m perfectly capable of using a squirt bottle of cleaner/water/polish. All of Koblenz’s polishers are very similar in terms of hardware, the differences are mostly in tank, included accessories and the length of the cord. The other aspect of these scrubber/polishers is they do not have any suction function, so any liquid you put down, you have to mop up (and if you’re using the carpet brushes on carpet, you want to be sparing with the cleaner, and use Dry Foam or Dry cleaner, not anything formulated for a wet extraction cleaner). That said, I knew that going in, and I knew what I needed. We have 30 year old wood floors that are at the limit of their very old, yellowed polyurethane, and it’s time to refinish them. The polyurethane is worn through in places, so I knew I needed to scrub it off, and a floor sander is a really good way to just destroy floors as a DIYer, but scrubbing pads are pretty forgiving. So I have scrubbed my kitchen floors (and yes, they were dirtier and with more buildup than I realized), have replaced the urethane, and polished with a wood floor specific polish intended for high traffic areas, and they look good as new. So we are definitely a shark ninja family and own a large range of their products. We had moved into our new house and I tried to save a few dollars and ordered this as an open box deal. I was so excited when it arrived and then things went south from there pretty quickly. I noticed an incredibly foul odor coming from the box as soon as I started opening it. It smelled like something died in the box or vacuum. When I got it out of the box it was overwhelmingly bad, like gag reflex bad. I called Wayfair customer service who told me I would have to reach out to Shark directly. I thought that was weird considering I bought from Wayfair but after being told that was my option I called anyways. I spent so much time on hold just for Shark to tell me what I already knew to be true, Wayfair needed to make it right. On top of that the Shark employee was adamant that I demand a refund. Open box purchases are non refundable and I was honestly frustrated and called Wayfair back where I was being told again the issue was a Shark issue not a them issue. She wanted me to test it and see if it worked and I was explaining it smells so foul I was not going to further spread the smell around my house by testing it out. She told me it was refurbished by shark and I got that but all the while I’m explaining it was shipped to me by Wayfair from the Kentucky fulfillment center. I then asked for a supervisor who completely took care of me immediately (after the original back and forth or almost 3 hours) and completely righted the issue and even gave me a complete refund and said we could keep it still. I got it out of our house immediately due to the vile smell and was good with it going in the trash. My husband felt so bad this all occurred by me just saving money and ungraded me to the newest greatest Shark pro detect with the base directly from Shark. He then took this one apart in our garage and discovered the issue of the smell was mold growing in the vacuum and base. Seemed like someone vacuum water up or something. He was able to take it apart and clean it and he kept it solely for the garage. I still don’t really know who was at fault and it was always supposed to be open box but there is ZERO chance anyone actually QC’d that item prior to shipping to us and I may never purchase an open box from Wayfair again. Then again they made it right so maybe one day I’ll work up the nerve to try again, but I’d definitely ask to speak with the supervisor sooner due to the complete runaround.. Brittany.
