These chairs are compact but sturdy. I love the Mid Century Modern look to them. Unboxing was a bit frustrating—the Styrofoam crumbled everywhere, creating quite a mess, and the screws were taped to it, which made cleanup even more difficult when removing them. During assembly, pieces F and G (the lower cross bracing) were especially tricky to align, and many of the screws didn’t line up easily with the predrilled holes. Step 10 was particularly challenging, as there were no predrilled holes for those screws, making installation much harder than expected. I’m giving them four stars because the assembly instructions are not very clear. The first chair took us way too long to assemble because we followed the instructions exactly as they were shown. It wasn’t until we finished the first chair that I realized the instructions are actually in the wrong order. I started with the last step instead, and after that, assembling the other chairs was super easy and much faster. For a moment, we honestly regretted buying them because the first one was so frustrating to put together. But once we figured out the correct way to assemble them, it really wasn’t that bad. I really love these chairs. The construction is very sturdy, and they are so pretty. The roped seating is strong, but I am worried it could stretch over time. I use a pillow on the seat to protect them, and that works great and looks nice.
