Wanted to upgrade our over the stove microwave and found this LG one. I love the slide out vent option. It really does get rid of steam and oil smoke from the front burners. It will help when we change to a gas range and oven. Other reviews stated issues with the side out function. I see no issues with the durability. Just don’t lean on it or put things on it. Power is amazing and food cooks quickly and evenly. Some others disliked that the screen goes blank until you open the door. I don’t notice this as an issue. You have to open the door to put your food in first. The only time it requires opening is to use the timer function. We are very impressed with the look, features, quality and price. I had a ge microwave already. This was basically the newest version. Be careful. The mount bracket is a little different and the top screws are in a different spot. Replaced a Bertazzoni micro-vent that almost burned down our house but that's another story. This unit looks very sleek and works perfectly. I love the massive door that opens up. That took some time to get used to. I love the dimming keypad. The only negative I have with this would probably be the vent speeds and sound. I wish I didn't have to cycle through all the vent speeds just to get to low. And to have a "Boost" speed? That's just lame. High, Mid & Low is all that's needed, I also love that all the buttons are touch; like an iPad and not actual buttons. That also took some time to get used to. The WiFi connectivity is a nice feature but I can't say I really use it for any of that. Why would anyone really?
