Our older kitty has been struggling more with leaping up and down from higher places. I wanted to find something nice for her to climb up or into if she desired. Compared to many other cat trees I found looking online, this one seemed the most practical and easiest for an older cat to use. Our kitty loves snuggling in the bottom part and it has become one of her favorite spots! It is so easy for her to get in and out of the cat tree. Highly recommend for older kitties. *Also, we covered the scratcher part with a towel due to our concern with our kitty having large claws that have a tendency to get stuck in things.. Laura.
