I received this bench on June 3, 2023. My husband and I worked together to construct it. I was very disappointed to find in the instructions that it is to be constructed with small dowel pegs. No screws are included. The instructions tell u that if a dowel breaks off while u are using a rubber mallet to hammer it in then u need to use a 1/8 drill bit to drill that one out and insert another one. I would have rather the manufacturer design this bench with screws as part of the construction which would have provided more strength and stability. However, we decided to give it a try and we began to construct it. Several dowels broke and I had to do as the instructions noted. It seems to be fairly tight together at this point but I will be monitoring it as time goes by. I applied a coat of Teak Oil to it and it brings out the beautiful grains and color. I bought this for my balcony and just now assembled. The wood is nice quality from what I can tell, but more importantly, this thing is very well designed for a flatpack bench/sofa. The cushions are incredibly comfortable, too! It's nice and wide, it feels so good to lie down on. The description recommends treating and sealing the wood, by the way. Before I put the cushions on, I mixed a mixture of 1:1.5 beeswax and mineral oil, and with gloves on, painted this onto every surface of the wood. I went in with a hairdryer after and melted this wax into the pores of the wood, wiping with a rag as I went to soak up excess. I finished with a good rub of mineral oil on top and wiped all excess.
