I love this bench. It cames unfinished and it's very dry. I used teak oil to protect the wood. The photo shows it after I rubbed it with the teak oil. There are a few things I want you to know. 1. The center legs are somewhat shorter than the outer legs. 2. It's delicate and somewhat fragile. I have a small crack in one piece. 3. This is 78 inches, really large and beautiful. Sturdy is an understatement….just a warning, pay attention to the tiny stickers that are numered and lettered as the leg stickers should match up precisely with the bench stickers on each side.
