Beekeeping

The wax coating process makes the beehive strong, waterproof and durable Each hive is first soaked in a blend of our organic waxes that penetrate and protect the wood. After the first treatment, we lower these hives deeply into a pool of 100% natural beeswax. With waxed walls, your bees can comfortably make their new hive their new home. This double coat of wax also accentuates the fluidity of the wood grain, whereas paint would only mask its natural beauty.

The traditional method for health beekeepers (since 1900) has been to use a hand-woven straw. The straw beehive is the precursor of wooden beehives. Heath beekeepers frequently move their beehives to heathland areas where there are flowering nectar plants and prefer to use this type of beehive as they are lightweight and easy to move. This beehive can provide a home for bees in a simple, quick, and inexpensive way.

I was originally skeptical about this suit since i wasn’t buying it from an actual beekeeping supplier. But I am pleasantly surprised how well this suit is made. The hood is completely removable and it is very well ventilated. This suit has three layers of mesh material with the inside mesh made of a thicker “gauge” of material than the inner an out mesh layers. I have yet to actually try it out, but from what I see initially, I expect no problems with this suit.. Kevin. Harlem, GA. Thu Jul 30 2020

This is a manual honey press extractor, which can help you to squeeze honey from the honeycomb, and also let you squeeze juice from vegetables or fruits. The ergonomic handle allows you to easily operate to obtain pure, pollution-free juice, saving you energy and time.

This should be a food-grade item; however, it's rusted where the legs were welded. Extremely disappointed, and now looking for a US brand only - not easy ... Also disappointed with Wayfair for not giving me the option for a full refund and a pre-paid label to return the item. The options were: keep it for 50%, exchange it, and replace parts(?!) not the case ;(. Cristina. Hillsboro, OR. Sun Jul 09 2023

Easy to assemble and built for year-round durability, it's the perfect choice for beekeepers of all levels!

Nice looking, but hive has 10 frames, and gap space between final frame and box is to large ~1" and could result in bees creating more comb to fill void. This was noticed in Deep boxes, and super. My boxes were constructed and were not squared, so don't sit square with ones below it, gaps may be filled with proprolis from bees and make it harder to get boxes apart. More experianced beekeepers would be able to adapt to differences, but to a novice it might be difficult to manage.. Anonymous. Thu Aug 06 2026

The Honey Keeper Vented Beekeeping Gloves are essential for beginner and commercial beekeepers who risk getting stung when handling hives. They shield your hands and forearms against bee stings and are ideal for hive maintenance, colony inspection, and honey harvesting. Choosing gloves that protect your bare hands and keep you sting-free while performing beekeeping tasks is critical. As your hive grows, and you spend more time working directly with your bees, you will need this protection. Our beekeeping gloves are of heavy-duty construction made with durable goatskin leather to protect the palms of your hands and fingers, yet offer the flexibility needed to handle tools and hives. Ventilation around the wrist area lets air through to reduce perspiration, so you can work in your gloves for hours without sweating (only on select models). This makes them well suited for warmer climates and summer months. The long sleeves with elastic cuffs form an effective seal to prevent bees from crawling inside and will and not slip while you are working, decreasing the risk of dropping tools and crushing bees. Breathable and comfortable to wear, the sleeves on these gloves are cotton fabric, so they are supple enough to give you the flexibility needed to work with delicate bees and hives. They are also well-suited for warm weather and the summer months. Care Instructions: Hand wash in cool or lukewarm water, using a mild detergent. Hang dry. Honey Keeper makes top quality beekeeping supplies to support all colony habitats and ensure longevity.
