The included dimmer is the reason to buy this lamp. Since it uses a relatively low-power bulb, it is perfect for mood lighting and ambient fill rather than task lighting. I especially like it as a side table or bookshelf lamp where you want a warm glow without taking up much space. The materials are nice, too. The fabric shade looks good, the wooden base is attractive, and the fabric-covered power cord is a nice upgrade over a standard plastic cord. My biggest complaint is the price.
