we got the outdoor post lantern a few weeks ago and got it up next to the driveway close to the kitchen door, it is great in the evening to sit outside and not have to move around to get a light to come on, we also got a shimmering light to go inside of it, and it looks like one of those old timey post you see in the westerns or old movies where someone had to go around and light up all of the street lights, and the glass being frosted it is just stunning. we love it.... I love the lights and they look great! Pictures of old and new. Note: I painted the bulb collar to coordinate with my other exterior lights. Just a couple of small issues: a) the lights came with 3 screws to attach to a post but I need to attach to a pier mount base (Castellanos, which I purchased at the same time) so they don't work. I am in the process of trying to find a way to secure them, and b) there is about 1/4" gap between the glass and the base so water gets in. There are holes in the bottom of the base but it's a flat surface so I think water will stand - trying to find someway to seal it (other than using silicon).. Jana. Salt Lake City, UT. This thing is amazing! I would prefer the option to have a softer yellow tone light in addition to the bright white, but it fits my needs. Needed a light out near the chicken coop/run but too far from nearest electrical feed to run anything permanent. This fits the bill. I have it on the mode where the light stays on low but comes on bright when approached or when it signals motion from a predator. Lights up the area very well for night time feeding/cleaning activities. I will remove the water from base and replace with sand before winter. Only thing I would change would be an option for an off/motion on mode rather than just low light/bright motion. Love that we can put it anywhere we need more light.. Robert. Leroy, OH.
