I have a great knife set, but my partner fell in love with these knives. I was hesitant about the color of the handles and whether they were a true red, or more orange. I will say, they do have a significant orange-red hue to them, but they go very well with my red kitchen decor. The knives are VERY lightweight, almost to the point that they feel cheap. HOWEVER, that is not the case at all! These knives are very well made, super sharp, and are just stunning! After using them, they are super easy to hold, maneuver, and cut with precision. I ordered these due to the sale price, and they are definitely worth that and more! I am highly pleased with them! I will say, hand wash them, immediately dry them, and put them back in the block. I Absolutely LOVE these knives!!! My husband and I bought these knives as an anniversary present for ourselves and thought we'd splurge. I will never go back to other knives. These are sharp. I have zero issue cutting thins slices of tomatoes, thick tough chunks of meat, these knives glide through them all like warm butter. I've actually started cooking more at home since we got these blades because prepping isn't such a chore any longer. We were in desperate need of a new set of knives and this came in just in time. They look great and we hope they let a bit longer than our last set. We like the block style but expect it to break soon because the weight of the knives does make it prone to falling over if you slide the set around the counter like we probably will do when using and cooking in a group.
