Tagines

There's a moment, when the conical lid lifts and the steam escapes, that a kitchen becomes a Mediterranean home. This authentic tagine pot is handmade in Tunisia by Fair Trade artisans using techniques passed down through generations — hand-thrown from 100% European fire clay, hand-glazed, and hand-painted so that no two are ever alike. The iconic cone circulates steam to self-baste your food, coaxing stews, braises, and couscous into deep, tender flavor with almost no added fat. Lead-free, non-stick, and oven-safe to 650°F, it travels from flame to table, where the vibrant Bohemian pattern does the talking. Loved by thousands of home cooks — and unlike mass-produced cookware, every purchase supports artisan families in Tunisia. Medium (3.1 Qt) serves 2–4; Large (5.5 Qt) serves 4–6. Blue, Red, or Turquoise.

I recently made a Moroccan lamb tagine, and it was absolutely delicious! This tagine is such a beautiful and functional piece of cookware, and it made the whole cooking experience enjoyable and authentic. The design of the tagine allowed the ingredients to cook evenly and slowly, resulting in tender lamb that practically melted in my mouth. The tagine retained heat beautifully, keeping the dish warm and flavorful throughout the meal. What I loved most was how easy it was to prepare everything in one pot. The conical lid allowed the steam to circulate and infuse all the ingredients with incredible flavor. It felt like I was bringing a bit of Morocco into my kitchen. If you love slow-cooked meals that are packed with flavor, investing in a tagine is a must. It’s not just a cooking vessel; it’s a game changer. I can’t wait to try other recipes in it!. Kymm. US. The Alva Nori 3-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Tagine does something an ordinary pot cannot: its tall conical lid catches the steam rising off the food, condenses it, and drips it back down, basting continuously for the whole cook. That is why a tough cut goes silky in a tagine and merely dry in a saucepan, and why the spices taste deeper. Heavy cast iron underneath holds a low, steady heat for hours without hot spots, and the durable enamel needs no seasoning and wipes clean. The bronze knob and glazed base take it from the stovetop straight to the table. Compatible with every cooktop including induction and oven safe to 500°F. There is no synthetic nonstick coating, and it is made without intentionally added PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead or cadmium. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, built in the Belgian tradition since 1949.

Originally from North Africa, a Tagine is the name of a dish as well as the conical pot in which it is cooked. Our version of the pot comes from Colombia and it is a beautiful Black Clay La Chamba Version. The Tagine can be used on a stovetop, both gas or electric, an open fire as traditionally used, and it can be placed in the oven. Completely natural and safe, contains no toxins or lead and the porous nature of the clay allows the slow evaporation of steam and produce food that is healthier, tastier, and moist using less fat and liquids. Will last many years with proper use and care (each piece comes with a product information sheet outlining the Uses and Care for the product). It is still made in the traditional black clay manner, by families in a small village on the banks of the Magdalena River in Central Colombia. Each piece is hand-made using local area clays, then hand burnished with a stone. The pieces are then fired in the village, giving them the distinctive black color and elegant look.

This is what we call a true Baraka tagine. It is so beautiful, fragile yet very strong you can use it on the stovetop at low heat, in the oven (up to 350F) as well as on any grill. The tagine is handmade; hand-shaped in its form; therefore, the uneven and asymmetrical shape is typical. This tagine is food safe, but it is not dishwasher safe.

It does not react with food, preserving the ingredients' natural flavors, minerals, and vitamins. It is crucial to avoid sudden temperature changes, as they may cause the cookware to crack. This cookware is suitable for use in all types of ovens and tandoors only. It should not be used on an open fire. Additionally, do not wash clay tableware in the dishwasher or use abrasive cleaners.
