This is the best poacher I have ever used. The shape of the insert, that the egg goes in, is better than most! It spreads the egg out, horizontally, instead of the usual deeper, vertically, shaped inserts. That type never gets the whites aroun the yolk cooked well enough for me. This shape cooks the egg more evenly. The weight of this heavier metal is nice. I drop a lot of things and the cheaper aluminum poachers dent too easily. Neat poacher. I’ve always thrown my eggs directly in the pot of water so I’m looking forward to the ease of use on this. The pan is much lighter in weight than I expected. The handle is hollow so I will have to take care of how I position it in the dishwasher. The poaching rack lifts out easily so this could be used for other purposes. I normally don’t use nonstick pans, but I do like that the cups for the eggs are nonstick. I like the wires around the cups that give me an easier way to get the cups out.. Angie. Maryville, TN.
