The diamond-like carbon coating was developed to withstand the toughest conditions: The amorphous carbon layer, just a few micrometers thick, increases the surface hardness of our WÜSTHOF blades from 58 to a unique 104 Rockwell. This makes them resistant to acids, alkalis, extreme temperatures, and general wear and tear – even scratches don't stand a chance.
