This is a good set. I especially like the large skillet with the little helper handle. They do stick slightly, but have been very easy to clean for the most part. When I did have the food stick, I just soaked for a little while in hot soapy water and was able to remove the stuck on part. I think it was caused by the sauce on the food and maybe cooking a bit too hot. Since every brand of pan is a little different, it takes a few cooking sessions to see how they conduct the heat.. The box was open, single layer cardboard, with no tape. It smelled oddly of floral perfume. Inside was the heavy, beautifully smooth carbon steel paella pan, with instructions on how to season it. The best nonstick I have ever used. I love Berghoff and I have replaced my set with Berghoff now and I absolutely love them. They heat fast use less gas and clean up easier than I have ever seen.
